Steam Your Veggies

Steaming your vegetables in a small amount of water rather than boiling them until they are gray helps retain essential nutrients. Steamed Vegetables are also really great side dishes for any meal with or without adding anything to them. But if you would like to add a little something to kick it up keep reading.
Try adding a pinch of salt to your steamed vegetables. Not too much though you do not want to worry about your blood pressure later on. A little lemon or lime mixed in with your broccoli gives it a feel of summer.
Add a little honey and cinnamon to carrots. doing so makes you feel as though you are eating baked sweet potatoes without having to got to all of that trouble. Chicken or vegetable stock added to your vegetables is wonderful try sauteing up a bit of onion and garlic add this to the stock, throw in some green beans. Oh so good!

Thank you Brooke for your great topic suggestion!
