Marathon Training - Cross Training Day

Day 8: Today is cross training day Today is a day for doing something aerobic other than running. Some choices could include.
  • hiking
  • swiming
  • biking
  • yoga
  • aerobic dance class
  • zumba
  • kettle training
I am going to work out with kettle bells today. I have a few DVDs that I like to use:
  • Jillian Michaels Shred It With Weights
  • Kettlenetics by Gaiam DVDs.
  • Bob Harper Inside Out Method "Kettlebell Cardio Shred".
I am going to use the Kettlenetics  Slim and Tone Cardio Balanced DVD. I like this one the best because it combines the art of dance with fitness. Michele Khai is the instructor and the creator of the Kettlenetics program. Michele has a background in dance; she is a former professional dancer and a celebrity trainer. I like her tone and the fact that she does the workout right along with you. She also seems to have real people working out with her.

I have read other reviews on this DVD that basically attack the DVD as not being a real kettle bell workout. We ll maybe it is not as high level as say Dragon Door, but it is a good place to start. I think this is a good way to introduce you to Kettle bells. Hey you can always move up from here right?

I purchased the DVD through Amazon and it came with a 4lb weight to start with. That was enough for me. I now use an 8 lb weight. I am not trying to bulk up, just keep toned. That is exactly what is advertised. The DVD title is Slim and Tone. I feel Michele is delivering what she is advertising.

Tip of the day: Always make your own decisions. If you like the workout and are seeing results, then by all means continue on!
